Over Hard Eggs

Description

A classic and satisfying breakfast favorite, these over hard eggs are cooked until the whites are set and the yolks are completely firm. Perfect for those who prefer no runny yolk, this simple recipe is great on its own, in breakfast sandwiches, or as part of a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale

2 large eggs
1 tablespoon butter or oil
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Place a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Add the butter or oil and allow it to melt, coating the bottom of the pan. Set aside.

Crack the eggs into a small bowl one at a time, then gently slide them into the skillet.
Let the eggs cook undisturbed for 2 to 3 minutes, until the egg whites are set and no longer translucent.
Pierce the yolks gently with the tip of a spatula or knife, allowing the yolk to spread slightly.
Carefully flip the eggs with a spatula. Cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, or until the yolks are fully cooked and firm.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh eggs for the best texture and shape.
Nonstick pans make flipping easier and prevent sticking.
If you’re cooking multiple eggs, use a larger skillet or work in batches.
To make dairy-free, simply use oil instead of butter.
These eggs are great in breakfast sandwiches, wraps, or paired with toast and fruit.
